Open Enrollment For Benefits Taking Place Now Print E-mail

It’s that time of the year again for open enrollment, the period when County Schools employees need to update and re-enroll for the health and welfare benefits. This year, there’s a new twist to the process. County Schools has made the process paperless. Medical enrollment changes for open enrollment must be done between May 19, 2008 and June 13, 2008. All changes will be effective on July 1, 2008.

All employees will need to logon to the EBenefits’ Web site (www.ebenefits.com/sbcss) to continue their health and welfare benefits. Employees also can access Ebenefits through the County Schools' e-net site through the Human Resources link, just like they can to link to their payroll information.

The site is user friendly, providing information about past benefit elections and the opportunity to change, update or reconfirm coverage for the 2008-09 benefits period. Each employee should re-enroll on the Web site to verify their coverage and dependents listed for 2008-09.

In addition, American Fidelity, County Schools’ Section IRC125 company, will begin their open enrollment process for employees interested in its products for the plan year that begins Sept. 1, 2008.

Remember employees must sign up every year for the following programs: Unreimbursed Medical Account and/or Dependent Care Reimbursement Account

Employees have the option to schedule a specific appointment time with an American Fidelity representative by calling its toll-free number 1-800-365-9180 or can attend a walk-in appointment at the following sites listed below:
